CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A routine traffic stop escalated into an arrest on Saturday when local police seized drugs and paraphernalia from a vehicle in the area of East 7th Street.
Officers from the Chillicothe Police Department observed a Silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, driven by 59-year-old Kevin Dunning, traveling along Sugar Street. Dunning, who had an outstanding warrant for leaving the scene of an accident, was subsequently pulled over by the officers.
Upon Dunning’s consent to a vehicle search, officers discovered two baggies – one allegedly containing a white powdery substance and another containing pills. A glass vial containing methamphetamine was also found in the vehicle.
Dunning was transported to the Ross County Jail due to his outstanding warrant. Further charges are pending as the analysis of the suspected narcotics continues.
