CHILLICOTHE, Ohio –– Two men and a woman were arrested on Tuesday, April 23, after an encounter with police at a Chillicothe residence. The incident stemmed from a Child Protective Services (CPS) investigation.
Officers were dispatched to 465 Willow Lane, to assist a CPS worker in locating a child as part of an ongoing investigation. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Nicholas Grooms, who granted CPS and the officers permission to enter the residence.
During a search of the residence, police discovered drug paraphernalia and subsequently arrested Angelo Froe and Ashton Walls-Bowling. Froe was found to have multiple outstanding warrants, while a warrant was also discovered for Walls-Bowling. Walls-Bowling admitted to probation officers that she had concealed an unknown narcotic substance in her body.
Both Froe and Grooms were transported to the Ross County Jail, however, medical concerns prevented them from being admitted. Grooms was later issued a summons for possession of drug abuse instruments. Froe was released into the custody of Pike County Sheriff’s Office on a separate warrant.
Walls-Bowling was also transported to the Ross County Jail. The suspected narcotics she had concealed were not examined by police and will be submitted to the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for testing.
Later the same day, officers executed a search warrant on the Willow Lane residence. The Guardian will update once additional details are released by the police.
