CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The Ross County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to the following incidents on April 24, 2024. Please note: Some incidents may still be under investigation.
- 2:47 a.m. – Warrant: Deputies responded to a tip regarding a wanted individual on South Main Street in Kingston. The individual was located, and an investigation was opened.
- 10:31 a.m. – Shoplifting: Officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Family Dollar in Londonderry. Investigation started.
- 11:14 a.m. – Criminal Mischief: Deputies responded to a report of a shattered vehicle window on Church Street in Frankfort. An investigation was begun.
- 11:24 a.m. – Structure Fire: Deputies were dispatched to a structure fire on US 23 South (Location: Waverly).
- 12:01 p.m. – Possible Vehicle Theft: Deputies responded to a possible vehicle theft in the Great Seal horse camping area on Marietta Road in Chillicothe.
- 12:39 p.m. – Abandoned Vehicle: Officers processed abandoned vehicles on Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe. Certified letters were sent to relevant parties.
- 1:35 p.m. – Possible Overdose: Deputies were dispatched to Lower Twin/SR 41 regarding a possible drug overdose.
- 1:35 p.m. – Trespassing: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint on Lunbeck Road in Chillicothe. An investigation was started.
- 2:07 p.m. – Unruly Juvenile: Deputies responded to Adena Regional Medical Center’s ER concerning an unruly juvenile incident that originated at a Ross County school.
- 2:09 p.m. – Theft: Officers received a theft complaint on North Main Street in Kingston regarding work paid for but not completed by a company.
- 2:31 p.m. – Speeding: A driver was cited for speeding (73mph in a 60mph zone) on US 23 in Chillicothe.
- 2:51 p.m. – Mental Health Situation: Officers responded to a homeless shelter on Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe, regarding an individual in an altered mental state. The individual was transported to a hospital without incident.
- 3:23 p.m. – Traffic Stop/Citations:. A driver was cited for exceeding the speed limit (100mph) and being unable to provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance on US 23 in Chillicothe.
- 4:10 p.m. – Theft: Officers responded to a theft report on Valley Road in Waverly.
- 4:51 p.m. – Duty to Display License: A traffic stop was conducted on US 23. The driver could not provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance. Citations were issued.
- 5:18 p.m – Welfare Check/Possible Assault: Deputies responded to a possible assault of a juvenile on Legend Drive, Chillicothe. Investigation opened.
- 5:21 p.m. – Domestic Disturbance: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Dry Run Road, Kingston.
- 6:02 p.m. – Camper Fire: Deputies responded to a camper fire on State Route 180, Chillicothe.
- 6:23 p.m. – Stolen Vehicle: Officers took a report of a stolen vehicle on South Mulberry Street, Chillicothe.
- 6:29 p.m. – Threats of Suicide: Deputies investigated a possible suicide threat reported on Sixth Street, Clarksburg.
- 6:59 p.m. – Juvenile Assault/Property Damage: Deputies responded to a report of a juvenile assault and property damage on Harris Station Road in Bainbridge.
- 7:35 p.m. – Trash Dumping: Officers responded to a complaint of illegal trash dumping on Seip Road, Chillicothe.
- 8:05 p.m. – Trespassing Livestock: Deputies responded to a trespassing livestock complaint on Chester Hill Road, Chillicothe.
- 8:22 p.m. – Stolen Vehicle: Officers took a report of a stolen vehicle on North Malone Road, Chillicothe.
- 8:43 p.m. – Threats: Officers responded to a threats complaint related to Facebook posts on Albright Mill Road, Chillicothe.
- 10:40 p.m. – 911 Hang-Up: Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call on State Route 159, Chillicothe.
- 10:45 p.m. – Attempted Break-In: Officers responded to a report of an attempted break-in on Cattail Road, Chillicothe.
