CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An Ohio man was arrested Friday after an armed standoff with police where he made threatening statements and cited conspiracy theories.
Police responded to a call on Hartwood Road regarding a man experiencing altered mental status. The man had called 911, claiming a threat from “MK Ultra” and requesting a state trooper.
Upon arrival, the man, later identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Tarvin-Holdren, exited his home armed with a rifle and ammunition. He refused multiple orders to drop the weapon but eventually complied after negotiations.
During the incident, the man admitted to alcohol dependence and made references to conspiracy theories involving the Illuminati and MK Ultra. He also made statements suggesting he would have shot at officers if not for their weapons.
The man faces charges including obstructing official business, disorderly conduct, aggravated menacing, using weapons while intoxicated, and having weapons while under disability. He was taken to Ross County Jail.
