NORMAN, Oklahoma — The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch until 1 AM on Wednesday, May 8 for the entire Scioto Valley.
According to meteorologists, conditions are ripe for the development of tornadoes. A few of which, the National Weather Service says, could be on the strong side. That means EF3 or higher.
Residents are reminded to understand the difference between a Watch and a Warning. A Watch means conditions are conducive for tornadic development. A Warning means a tornado has been spotted either on the ground or by radar. A Warning means residents should seek shelter in the basement or the innermost room of a sturdy structure.
