CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Police are investigating an alleged assault on a teenage girl found wandering on North Brownell Street early Tuesday morning.
According to the police report, a 17-year-old teen was found near the 100 block of N. Brownell St. around 1:51 a.m., on May 14, claiming she had been assaulted at a nearby residence. The teen reportedly told officers she had left her Vollmar Road home without permission and was picked up by a friend who took her to an unknown address.
At the residence, the girl said she was with multiple individuals who had stolen alcohol and were trying to pressure her into drinking. When she refused, she was reportedly pushed out of the house by the friend’s mother. While on the ground, the teen said she was punched by a male she later identified as “Rico,” who was wearing a ski mask. Officers stated in their report that the teen lost consciousness at some point during the altercation.
Officers observed injuries on the girl consistent with an assault, including two raised spots on the back of her head and dried blood on her hand. They also found blood drops on the sidewalk and front porch of a residence on N. Brownell St.
The teen, according to the police report, was transported back to her guardian, who allegedly declined medical treatment for the victim due to no major injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, attempting to contact witnesses and identify the individuals involved in the alleged assault.
