MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio — A local woman, previously prohibited from serving as a Medicaid health care provider, faces indictment for allegedly defrauding the Ohio Medicaid program once again, according to an announcement today by Ohio Attorney General Yost.

Janay Corbitt, 36, has been indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on eight felony counts, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, aggravated theft of $1.5 million or more, identity fraud against a person in a protected class, two counts of identity fraud, Medicaid fraud, and two counts of forgery.

Following the indictment, an arrest warrant was issued for Corbitt. The U.S. Marshal’s Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) is currently on the hunt for her. The Dayton Police Department and the Miami Valley Crime Stoppers are urging anyone with information about Corbitt’s whereabouts to come forward.

The indictment follows an investigation by Yost’s Health Care Fraud section, which alleges that Corbitt stole the identities of multiple individuals to establish and operate two fraudulent behavioral health counseling agencies in the Dayton area. It is believed that Corbitt also stole the identity of several licensed counselors, using their credentials to bill Medicaid for services that were never rendered. The total amount allegedly stolen from Medicaid exceeds $1.8 million.

In 2019, Corbitt was convicted of theft in a separate Medicaid scheme. She was ordered to repay $204,412.02 to the Medicaid program, of which she has only paid $6,255 to date. This conviction resulted in her disqualification from the Medicaid program.
