ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A $5,000 reward has been offered for the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals who set a structure on fire in the village of Bainbridge. The Guardian previously reported on the fire at 203 Walnut Street. The blaze caused damage to adjacent structures and a Bainbridge FD fire engine.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived on the scene just after 2 AM on May 26. The deputies reported that the residence appeared to be abandoned.
The Bainbridge Fire Chief, as stated in the deputy’s report, suspected the fire to be arson-related. The chief reportedly told deputies that the home had been intentionally set on fire once before, and the same individuals are suspected in this current case. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the sheriff’s office or the state fire marshal.
