CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — State investigators are probing a series of fires that erupted over the weekend just south of Chillicothe, raising suspicions of arson.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies and firefighters responded to Massieville Road shortly after midnight on June 8, following reports of multiple fires in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered several structures ablaze.
Given that the structures were unoccupied at the time of the fires, the state fire marshal has been requested to assist with the investigation, as arson is believed to be the cause.
Efforts are underway by the sheriff’s office to identify and locate the property owner. In the meantime, authorities are asking the public for any information related to the fires. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
