ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A robbery on Sugar Tree Road in Ross County, took a turn Tuesday night when the suspect fled the scene on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) after allegedly attacking a man with an axe.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m., when initial reports indicated a man had fallen down a hill. However, subsequent calls to authorities clarified that the male victim had been reportedly assaulted with an axe during a robbery. The assailant, who was described as wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans, took off into the woods on an ATV.
The victim, dispatchers said, refused transport to the hospital.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as they continue their search.
Local law enforcement has established a perimeter in an effort to apprehend the reportedly armed suspect.
