SAG HARBOR, New York — Music superstar Justin Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving early Tuesday morning after reportedly being seen intoxicated at a bar in Sag Harbor, Long Island.
According to a witness, Timberlake, 43, appeared noticeably intoxicated and even took a sip from a drink left behind by another customer just before the bar’s closing time. The drink’s owner allegedly returned from the restroom to find Timberlake consuming their beverage.
Shortly after leaving the bar, Timberlake was reportedly pulled over by police. He was charged with DUI, running a stop sign, and swerving out of his lane in his gray BMW. Despite allegedly claiming he had only had one martini and was heading home after meeting friends, court documents reveal that Timberlake refused a breathalyzer test three times.
The arresting officer, who reportedly did not recognize Timberlake from his boy band days, noted that Timberlake failed field sobriety tests. Timberlake, according to TMZ, allegedly expressed concern about the potential impact of the arrest on his ongoing world tour, which includes upcoming performances at Madison Square Garden.
Timberlake’s wife, actress Jessica Biel, was filming a movie in Manhattan during the incident.
