CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local authorities are investigating a possible burglary reported at an apartment in Sherman Park. On June 18, a resident of 501 Sherman Park reported that her home had been entered and its interior photographed and videotaped while she was hospitalized for a medical emergency.
According to police, the resident had a medical emergency around midnight on Sunday, June 16, and was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center. During her absence, her neighbor at 505 Sherman Park turned off her lights. The resident returned home on June 18 and discovered the intrusion through photos and videos sent to her by a family member.
Further details emerged when the neighbor contacted police, stating that after the resident was taken to ARMC, she noticed a gas smell coming from the apartment. The two individuals allegedly said they entered the apartment through a window and found the stove on with the door open. They turned off the stove and documented pills and blood on the floor.
The resident initially indicated she would not file charges. Police are awaiting confirmation on whether she wishes to pursue the investigation.
