CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a burglary reported on Tuesday along Pleasant Valley Road, which involved a broken window and a trail of blood discovered inside a residence, according to initial reports.
Deputies, responding to the scene after receiving a dispatch call, arrived to find the resident, who reported noticing the damage upon returning home. The resident stated that his brother had checked the house the previous evening and found everything in order. However, upon returning the next day and entering through the front door, blood droplets were observed on the floor, leading to the discovery of a broken kitchen window.
“I cleared the house to ensure no unauthorized individuals were present,” deputies noted in their report. “The missing items reported included a Ring doorbell camera valued at approximately $60 and medication from the refrigerator.”
Detectives documented the scene with photographs and collected samples of the blood for DNA testing.
Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
