PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — On Monday evening, emergency personnel responded to a distress call to assist a dog trapped in the river near State Route 316.
The shallow water allowed rescuers to wade in and safely carry the dog to shore.
The dog was found to be very weak and injured. Authorities were unsure how long the canine was stranded.
Currently, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is providing care for the animal while further arrangements are being made.
