CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Residents of Chillicothe are set to experience changes in their service expenses following the passage of new city ordinances aimed at adjusting rates for trash and recycling services. City Ordinances 32-24 and 33-24, approved by the Chillicothe City Council on June 10, 2024, mandate annual adjustments effective August 2024.
Beginning in August, residents will see an increase in city trash rates to $17.00 per month and recycling rates to $4.00 per month. These adjustments are necessary to accommodate rising collection fees and equipment costs and ensure the continued provision of essential and supplemental services to residents.
City officials urge residents to visit ChillicotheOH.gov for additional information, where they can also sign up for electronic bills and set up automatic payments to streamline their billing process. The adjusted rates will be reflected in residents’ billing cycles starting August 2024.
For any questions or concerns regarding the rate adjustments, residents are encouraged to contact the service department at [email protected] or call 740.773.2700.
