GREENFIELD, Ohio — Following the recent robbery at a Rite Aid pharmacy in Greenfield, authorities are investigating a potential connection to a series of similar incidents across the state.
Before the Greenfield robbery, another Rite Aid pharmacy fell victim to a robbery in Ada, Ohio, raising suspicions of a coordinated criminal operation targeting pharmacies.
According to the Ada Police Department, officers responded to a robbery in progress at the Rite Aid located at 610 S. Main Street around 9 PM on June 25. The suspects, matching the description provided in the Greenfield incident, were described as three African American males wearing medical-style masks and dressed in all black. They stole prescription medications and fled on foot from the scene.
Unlike the Greenfield robbery where a gun was reportedly involved, Ada authorities confirmed no firearms were brandished during the incident.
Both cases are under active investigation, with law enforcement agencies exploring potential links between the robberies. The coordination and similarities in the methods used have led authorities to consider the possibility of a larger criminal operation targeting pharmacies across Ohio.
Local residents and businesses are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. Further updates on the investigations are expected as authorities continue to gather information and pursue leads in both cases.
