Incident Start Date: 07/10/24

Address: Cupps Bridge Road
City: Frankfort
Initial Narrative:
On July 10th, 2024, Detective Pierce and I went to 85 Cupps Bridge Road, Frankfort, Ohio, to follow up on case SO-P2402610. Case 24-2610 is a breaking and entering complaint from 262 Schaffer Road, Waverly, Ohio, where Daniel “Danny” Clark had been mentioned as a suspect. I wanted to speak with Danny regarding the surveillance video in which Ed Brill identified Danny as a suspect and provided me with Danny’s vehicle information. Upon arrival, I noticed the residence’s front door did not appear to be the primary door used. The front porch was screened in and I did not see an access point to enter the porch. I followed the gravel driveway around to a stone path which appeared to me as a sidewalk leading to the back porch/deck of the residence. The door on the back porch seemed to be the primary door used for the entrance/exit of the residence. While walking up the stone path, I noticed a large, black cast iron bell sitting in plain sight in the backyard. I remembered a large bell was stolen from a Camelin Hill Road church, which was reported stolen a few months ago. I knocked on the door of the residence and spoke with Charlene Clark, wife to Danny Clark and resident of 85 Cupps Bridge Road. Charlene told me she was unsure if Danny was home or not and asked if I saw a green SUV in the driveway. I told her I did not see a green SUV in the driveway and Charlene stated Danny was gone and unsure of where he went. I told Charlene I needed to speak with Danny regarding the investigation into a breaking and entering complaint. I then asked Charlene about the bell sitting in her backyard and she stated she was unsure of where it came from. Charlene stated the bell appeared in the yard 1 or 2 months ago but wasn’t sure. I asked Charlene if Danny placed the bell in the yard and she again stated she wasn’t sure. I questioned Charlene if anyone else lived on the property and she stated no, but her youngest son, Brian Clark, comes and goes but does not live there. Charlene stated Brian is not on the property unless she is there and he is dropping off his daughter to her. I asked Charlene if Brian brought the bell to her.
