CINCINNATI, Ohio – Popular WCPO weatherman Steve Raleigh is facing controversy after a local family accused members of his family of assault in a parking lot altercation.
The Morrow family held a press conference on Monday, alleging they were attacked by relatives of Raleigh following a minor traffic incident on June 22nd outside the Montgomery Inn Boathouse.
According to statements, Raleigh was allegedly involved in a collision with the Morrows. The family’s account claims their car was cut off by a speeding SUV, leading to an exchange of words. When Doug Morrow, the father, requested police involvement, the situation reportedly escalated.
The Morrows allege that Steve Raleigh initially suggested exchanging insurance information, but Doug Morrow opted for a police report. They claim a relative of Raleigh then assaulted both Doug and his son, Troy. Lois Morrow, attempting to intervene, was also allegedly attacked.
The family says both Doug and Lois Morrow suffered concussions. Troy Morrow, who the family said has physical limitations, expressed frustration that the situation could have been avoided with a police report.
Stacie Morrow-Stickrod, the Morrows’ daughter, posted a video on social media alleging the attacker was Steve Raleigh’s adult son. The video has not been independently verified.
Three days ago, WCPO Vice President Jeff Brogan issued a statement saying, “We are aware of the incident involving Steve Raleigh’s family. It is still under investigation, and at this time no charges have been filed against anyone. Steve shared his side of the incident with our leadership. His account is consistent with the police report, which does not name him, and with what we have reviewed on video. The video does not show the incident from start to finish. We will continue to monitor official findings.”
Police are currently investigating the incident and reviewing the video evidence. No arrests have been made.
