CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Health District conducted multiple health inspections thus far in July and found various violations at several locations. Here’s a breakdown of the inspections by date:
July 1st:
- Acord’s Market & Carryout (13110 State Route 772, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violation: No employee with manager certification in food protection.
- Additional Violations: Employees not informed about health reporting procedures, no written procedures for responding to vomiting/diarrheal events, expired sanitizer test kit, ice buildup in freezer, uneven floors.
- Amvets Post 4 (PO Box 136, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violation: Employees not informed about health reporting procedures.
- Additional Violations: No written procedures for responding to vomiting/diarrheal events, no sanitizer test kit for dishwasher (only chlorine for quaternary sanitizer), unclean equipment surfaces.
July 2nd:
- Chillicothe Country Club (800 Arch St, Chillicothe):
- Violations: Expired chlorine sanitizer test kit, unclean ice machine and walk-in cooler shelving, 3-compartment sink used for prep (requires air gap), missing and damaged ceiling tiles.
July 3rd:
- Los Mariachis III (1080 N Bridge St, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violations (all corrected during inspection): Improper egg storage (above ready-to-eat foods), unclean ice machine and beverage dispenser, improper cooling of TCS foods, unlabeled toxic materials, uncovered food items.
- Additional Violations (all corrected during inspection): Dirty dishes and shelving, prep table with damaged seals and water accumulation, no quaternary sanitizer test kit for bar, uncovered trash receptacle in women’s restroom, unclean floors, walls, vents, and ceilings.
- Duchess BP High & Orange #1255 (741 Safford, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violations: Broken handwashing sink (employees used rinse compartment), improperly dated refrigerated food items, back door left open.
- Additional Violations: Expired sanitizer test kit, unclean F’Real equipment surfaces, no verification of person-in-charge certification.
July 5th:
- Hirsch Fruit Farm (41 Seney Rd, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violations: Employees not informed about health reporting procedures, no written procedures for responding to vomiting/diarrheal events, uncovered trash receptacle in women’s restroom.
- Additional Violations: RFE does not comply with person-in-charge certification requirements.
July 8th:
- American Legion Post 757 (289 Cooks Hill Rd, Chillicothe):
- Critical Violation: Unclean food-contact surfaces of ice machines.
- Additional Violations: Expired sanitizer test kit, water-damaged ceiling tiles (reportedly being repaired).

- Violations: Missing or incomplete allergen declarations, no sanitizer test kit available, ice accumulation on freezer unit.
