CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A heartwarming rescue unfolded in Ross County on Tuesday evening, thanks to the combined efforts of deputies, firefighters, and animal welfare workers.

A young girl and her mother flagged down a Ross County deputy after spotting a tiny kitten trapped at the bottom of a storm drain.

Deputies, firefighters from the Scioto Township Fire Department, and members of the Fayette Regional Human Society worked to free the trapped feline.

Finally, around 1:00 am, the kitten was successfully retrieved from the storm drain.
