CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Ross County man faces serious felony charges after being recently indicted. Jacob Carrol of Chillicothe has been charged with felony strangulation and abduction, stemming from an incident on March 3, 2024.
According to the report filed at the time, deputies responded to a residence on McDonald Hill in Frankfort. Upon arrival, they initially spoke with Carrol. During the conversation, a woman at the residence reportedly mouthed the words, “Help us” to the deputies.
The woman stated that Carrol had allegedly punched her multiple times in the face and head during an argument about a phone bill. She further claimed that Carrol strangled her with both hands and prevented her from leaving when she tried to flee. According to her statement, the assault continued after Carrol caught her.
Deputies noted that the female victim had significant bruising across her body. Carrol was subsequently transported to the Ross County Jail.
Court records show that Jacob Carrol is expected to be arraigned in the Ross County Court of Common Pleas on July 29, 2024.
