CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The City of Chillicothe is taking steps to enhance its biking infrastructure and culture by applying for a Bicycle Friendly Community designation from the League of American Bicyclists.

As part of its broader community development plan, “Choose Chillicothe,” the city aims to create a more bike-friendly environment for residents and visitors. Achieving this designation would recognize the city’s commitment to improving bike safety, accessibility, and overall cycling experience.

To gather essential data for the application, the city is encouraging residents to complete an anonymous survey provided by the League of American Bicyclists. The survey will collect information about local cycling conditions, infrastructure, and rider experiences. The results will help the city identify areas for improvement and strengthen its application.

Residents are urged to participate in the survey, which will be available until October. The League of American Bicyclists is expected to announce its decision on Chillicothe’s application in December.
