ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Franklin County deputy was arrested without incident by the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Ross County this morning. Deputy Charles Davis faces a staggering 58-count indictment, which includes 32 counts of rape and 26 counts of gross sexual imposition.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was informed about the investigation in September 2023. Following the notification, Davis was promptly placed on administrative leave.

Sheriff Dallas Baldwin released a statement regarding the arrest, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. “This is an extremely serious matter, and I have full faith in the investigation. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and accountability. I want to reassure our citizens that we are dedicated to transparency, professionalism, and, as always, the safety of our community,” Baldwin said.

The Sheriff’s Office has stated that no further comments will be made while the case proceeds through the judicial system. An internal investigation is also in progress.
