KINGSTON, Ohio – The Kingston Village Public Water System (PWS) in Ross County has been cited by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failing to collect the required lead and copper samples for the first half of 2024.
In a notice dated July 31, 2024, addressed to Mayor Eric Lloyd, the Ohio EPA stated that Kingston Village PWS did not submit any of the 20 required samples for the monitoring period from January 1 to June 30, 2024. The system serves a population of 1,032 residents.
The violation falls under Ohio Administrative Code 3745-81-86(C) and (D). To address the issue, Kingston Village must notify its customers and submit a verification form along with the public notice to the Ohio EPA.
Failure to comply with Ohio Revised Code Chapter 6109 and related regulations could result in administrative or civil penalties.
