CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Several firearms and electronic items were reported stolen from a local storage unit on July 31, 2024. The theft took place at the Chillicothe Self Storage on Enterprise Place Drive, where it was discovered that the unit had been broken into.
The owner was informed by storage management that the lock had been cut, prompting him to inspect the unit. He found that numerous items were missing, including a Remington 870 Express shotgun, a Mossberg 500 shotgun, an unknown .410 gauge shotgun, a .380 caliber pistol, a .25 Derringer, a .22 long rifle, two televisions, five fishing rods and reels, an eight-foot Ugly Stick rod, a bag of tools, and two vehicle power inverters.
Although the facility has surveillance cameras, officers in their report said attempts to retrieve footage were unsuccessful due to non-functional contact numbers. The unit’s garage door showed no signs of damage, and no additional details about the stolen items, such as serial numbers, were available.
The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
