CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 21st, as Chillicothe’s highly anticipated Ghost Walk returns for another spine-chilling year. Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., this annual event takes participants on a haunting journey through some of downtown Chillicothe’s most mysterious and storied locations.
This year’s Ghost Walk will offer rare, behind-the-scenes tours of local landmarks, including The Gazette Building (Caldwell Bankers), Maggie’s Farm & Aromatics, Mill City Apparel, Nellie Dog Pottery, and Southern Ohio Axe Throwing. Each site has its own eerie history, and volunteer storytellers will be on hand to share the ghostly tales that have become part of Chillicothe’s folklore.
The Ghost Walk isn’t just about thrills and chills—it’s also a crucial fundraiser for the Chillicothe Halloween Festival, scheduled to take place from October 11th to 13th in Yoctangee Park. All proceeds from the Ghost Walk will help cover the operational costs of this beloved community event.
Dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to bring the Ghost Walk to life each year, and their commitment to preserving Chillicothe’s rich history and traditions is truly inspiring. The festival team is always looking for more volunteers, and anyone interested in getting involved can reach out to [email protected].
This is a rain-or-shine event, so participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and arrive by 1 p.m. to ensure they have enough time to explore all the locations. Please note that the tour sites include stairs.
Tickets for the Ghost Walk can be purchased in advance online at chillicothehalloweenfestival.com or in person at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event at Tea of Life Apothecary, located at 45 North Paint Street in downtown Chillicothe.
