ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County daycare facility is under investigation after a concerned parent contacted authorities regarding the possible sexual assault of a toddler.
On August 27, deputies responded to a residence after the caller reported that their 3-year-old child had been inappropriately touched by an employee of the daycare they attended in Clarksburg.
According to a report from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the parent told deputies that an incident occurred on July 16, 2024, at Write Start Child Development LLC, located on Route 207 in Clarksburg. The parent stated they were informed of an incident at the center where the toddler was in the bathroom with an adult employee and began “screaming” that he wanted his mother. The report indicates that another employee allegedly entered the restroom after hearing the commotion. The parent claimed that the employee found the toddler with another staff member in the restroom and that the employee said, “everything is fine.”
The parent also stated that the administration reportedly held a meeting regarding the incident and that it was “taken care of.” The names of those involved were redacted by the sheriff’s office.
The Guardian reached out to the daycare facility for comment. At this time, that request has gone unanswered.
