CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Authorities have confirmed that the recent fire at Ted Lewis Park in Circleville has been ruled as arson, following an investigation by the Circleville Police Department. The blaze erupted around 11:30 PM, prompting a response from officers and emergency services who arrived on the scene to tackle the flames engulfing the shelter house.
During the investigation, law enforcement was able to identify a suspect linked to the incident. Nineteen-year-old Charles Mazurek was apprehended and is currently being held at the Pickaway County Jail. He faces charges of arson and criminal trespass related to the fire.
As the investigation continues, officials have not yet disclosed any motives for the fire.
