CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A 41-year-old Pickaway County man has been arrested following an investigation by the Circleville Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor.
Matthew Nicklas, the current director of the Pickaway County Board of Elections was taken into custody this morning after Circleville police officers, along with agents from BCI’s Special Victims Unit, executed a search warrant at his residence in Circleville. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.
Nicklas is set to face initial charges in Pickaway County Municipal Court, with further charges expected as the investigation progresses.
