COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be lowered across several counties and state buildings in honor of former Congressman Dave Hobson, who passed away recently. The flags of the United States and the state of Ohio will be flown at half-staff on all public buildings and grounds in Champaign, Clark, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Logan, Perry, Pickaway, Ross, and Union counties. In addition, flags will be lowered at the Ohio Statehouse, the Vern Riffe Center, and the Rhodes State Office Tower.
The order will remain in effect from today until the day of Hobson’s funeral, with other public buildings and grounds throughout the state encouraged to lower their flags at their discretion for the same period.
Hobson, who served Ohio’s 7th District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 2009, was known for his work in defense appropriations and environmental cleanup efforts. His service to the state is being remembered with this honor as Ohio mourns his loss.
