CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The Walmart Supercenter at 85 River Trace has undergone a stunning transformation and will officially reopen this Friday, October 25th at 9 a.m., welcoming customers with a new, customer-focused shopping experience. The remodel aims to enhance convenience and offer a seamless experience for both in-store and online shoppers.
To celebrate, Walmart is hosting a community event that promises to be as engaging as it is heartwarming. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the Presentation of Colors by the local V.F.W. Post 108 and a performance of the National Anthem by the Unioto High School Choir. Special recognition will also be given to ten associates who have been with Walmart for more than 25 years, as they help cut the ribbon to reopen the store.
A significant highlight of the day will be the unveiling of a new community-focused mural, part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, which showcases local pride and culture. The mural is the latest addition to the largest public art initiative celebrating communities across the country.
Throughout the morning, attendees can enjoy giveaways and samples from popular brands like Frito Lay, Little Debbie, Pepsi, and more, while local mascots including Chester Cheeto and the Coca-Cola Bear greet guests and take photos with children. Local food trucks such as Fawcett Funnel Cakes and Schmidt’s Sausage Truck will also be on-site offering delicious food and refreshments.
Store manager Nicole Meddock, alongside Walmart associates and representatives from local organizations, will be present to engage with the community, further cementing Walmart’s dedication to the Chillicothe area.
