ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Kocheran Strong Foundation, founded by former deputy, and local hero, Eric Kocheran, hosted the “Destination Christmas” event, raising nearly $2,000 to support children in kinship care. The funds will be donated to the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program of the Ross County Juvenile Court to help buy Christmas gifts for these children and teens.
Local contributions, the foundation said, played a key role in the event’s success:
• CASA Del Taco provided food
• Comedian Lori Graves performed
• DJ Jamie Lynch with LM Entertainment provided music
• The Jaycees Golf Course donated the venue
“We’re excited to announce that this will become an annual event, ” shared CASA Director Britni Brown. “We have over 300 children, with 112 new cases in 2024. We are currently seeking volunteers to speak on behalf of these children.”
CASA is a statewide program across 60 counties, dedicated to advocating in court for abused or neglected children.
If you’d like to help make a difference in the life of a child, CASA is seeking volunteers, and there are upcoming training opportunities.
Training will be held from November 5th to 21st:
• In-person: Every Tuesday
• Virtual: Every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
