PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — Pickaway County Community Action (PICCA) recently introduced the Soap-n-Hope Mobile Hygiene unit, a 32-foot trailer offering essential services like showers and laundry to those in need, especially the homeless. The unit was made possible through an $85,000 grant from Circleville’s opioid settlement fund. At the dedication event on Oct. 22, Mayor Michelle Blanton symbolically christened the unit with a bottle of shampoo.

Executive Director Becky Hammond acknowledged the City of Circleville and several donors, such as the Circleville Sunrise Rotary Club and Cargill Corp., for helping raise an additional $60,000. This extra funding will support the construction of a pole barn on PICCA’s property to house the unit. Soap-n-Hope is currently operating on Tuesdays and Thursdays and plans to extend its reach to serve more areas across the county by 2025.
If you’d like to contribute, either with monetary donations or supplies, you can reach out to Becky Hammond at (740) 477-1655. Since PICCA is a nonprofit, all donations are tax-deductible.
