COLUMBUS, Ohio — This November marks 30 years since the beloved show FRIENDS first aired, and the American Red Cross is commemorating the milestone by encouraging donors to gather their friends and make a blood or platelet donation to support patients in need.
The holiday season often sees a decline in blood donations as people get busy with festive activities, yet the need for blood remains high. The Red Cross is urging eligible individuals, especially those with type O blood and platelet donors, to prioritize giving this November. To make it even more memorable, those who donate between Nov. 18 and Dec. 8 will receive two pairs of custom FRIENDS + Red Cross socks, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Donors can keep a pair and share a pair with a friend, spreading both warmth and awareness.
In addition, those who donate now through Nov. 17 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice and will be entered for a chance to win one of two $7,000 gift cards. Complete details are available at RedCrossBlood.org/Thanks.
For those interested in making a “FRIENDSgiving” donation, appointments can be scheduled via the Red Cross Blood Donor App, at RedCrossBlood.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
