CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed that a single-vehicle crash on Friday evening resulted in the death of a driver. The incident occurred Friday, at approximately 10:17 p.m. along Route 35 near the Pleasant Valley Road exit.

According to the patrol, 911 dispatchers were notified of the crash and reported that the driver was unresponsive. Emergency services (EMS) from Union Township were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, EMS personnel performed active CPR on the driver, identified as Slavisa Jovanovic, 52, of Western Springs, Illinois. Mr. Jovanovic was traveling westbound on US 35 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and came rest against a tree. He was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

The Ross County Coroner’s Office responded to the incident and transported Mr. Jovanovic to Montgomery County for further examination. A preliminary report on whether the fatality was caused by the crash itself or a medical condition is expected by the end of the day.

The Ohio Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
