CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Pickaway County Community Action Organization (PICCA) has received a $1,500 donation from the Pickaway County Women’s Republican Club to bolster services for homeless veterans.

The funds will be dedicated to PICCA’s Ohio House, a transitional housing facility aiding unhoused veterans. Brenna Gibson, president of the Women’s Republican Club, emphasized the importance of community support for veterans. “Our veterans fought and died to preserve the freedoms we enjoy as a nation,” Gibson said. “We owe them everything, and we wanted to keep the money in our community.”

The donation was raised during the club’s Jingle & Mingle event, held Dec. 5 at Rhoadhouse 56 in Circleville.

Becky Hammond, executive director of PICCA, expressed gratitude for the contribution. “We cannot thank the Women’s Republican Club enough,” Hammond said. “The donation will go a long way in repaying a debt of gratitude we owe all our veterans.” She noted that many Ohio House residents arrive with few belongings, and this funding will help in their journey toward independence.
