COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is calling on drivers to exercise caution after 28 of their snowplows were struck by vehicles so far this winter weather season. ODOT officials are reiterating their message: “Give us room to work.”
ODOT Press Secretary Matt Bruning took to social media to emphasize the importance of this plea, stating, “Give us room to work is about the safety of our vehicles and our crews, but it’s also about your safety because we know that these can be nasty crashes when they occur, so we want everyone to reach their destination safely. That’s why the plows are out there in the first place.”
As winter storms continue to impact Ohio, ODOT is urging all drivers to slow down and maintain a safe distance from snowplows.
