CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — In a recent narcotics seizure, officers from the Chillicothe Police Department discovered over 140 grams of cocaine and nearly half a kilogram of methamphetamine during an investigation into a domestic dispute.

On January 29, 2025, police responded to a domestic dispute at a hotel located at 1250 North Bridge Street. During their investigation, officers uncovered drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics in the hotel room. The Chillicothe Police K9 unit, trained to detect narcotics, was deployed and alerted authorities to the presence of drugs emanating from a vehicle in the parking lot.

Following a subsequent search, police seized 141 grams of cocaine and 440 grams of methamphetamine. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Nicholas Grooms of Chillicothe, was arrested for a probation violation warrant. Additional felony charges are pending, depending on lab results.
