CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police responded to a reported altercation at the Pilot truck stop on East Main Street Monday night after a security guard claimed a truck driver had threatened him with a gun.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible firearm being involved in the dispute.
The security guard told officers that he confronted a truck driver for parking outside the designated paid parking area. The interaction escalated into a verbal altercation, and the guard claimed that the driver attempted to pull him from his vehicle, prompting him to draw his weapon in self-defense.
The truck driver, however, denied ever having a firearm but admitted to mentioning one, saying he felt threatened by the security guard pulling a gun on him. He also alleged that the guard was aggressive during the encounter and accused him of racial bias. The driver further denied trying to pull the security guard from his car, stating that the guard was significantly larger than him.
No arrests were made at the scene, and statements were collected from all parties involved. The incident remains under investigation.
