WEST UNION, Ohio — Ohio employers will soon have an opportunity to tap into an overlooked pool of skilled workers at an upcoming event aimed at Fair Chance Hiring—a practice that provides employment opportunities to individuals with non-traditional backgrounds, including those with past criminal records.

The Talent You’re Missing: Employer Forum & Networking Event will take place on April 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Adams County Business and Training Center. The event will bring together business leaders, industry experts, and state officials to discuss the benefits of Fair Chance Hiring and how it can help businesses address labor shortages while strengthening communities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the business advantages of inclusive hiring practices
  • Connect with other employers and professionals
  • Hear success stories from companies benefiting from Fair Chance Hiring
  • Access resources for implementing fair hiring policies

“In today’s competitive job market, businesses can no longer afford to overlook qualified talent,” said Debora Plymail, Director of OhioMeansJobs Adams and Brown Counties. “This event will challenge outdated hiring norms and provide actionable solutions to help businesses grow while making a positive social impact.”

The event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Employers can sign up at https://bit.ly/3EoOKKp.
