CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A woman faces potential charges after allegedly making statements about threatening victims in her case, according to a police report.
Deputies say Kendia Young placed a call from jail on Feb. 27, asking someone to contact the victims in her case and persuade them not to appear in court. According to the report, Young allegedly told the person to offer money to the victims in exchange for not testifying.
A deputy stated that one individual on the call confirmed they would not be attending court, but others were still expected to be present. Investigators later spoke with one of the victims, who said Young had repeatedly asked them not to appear. Another person told authorities that Young continued apologizing and urging them to drop the charges, according to the report.
A deputy spoke with a court official and determined that Young would be charged with intimidation of a victim. Authorities are also seeking an additional warrant for another individual allegedly involved in the attempts to interfere with the case.
The case remains under investigation.
