COLUMBUS, Ohio – A collaborative effort among six state law enforcement agencies has led to a significant crackdown on drugs and illegal weapons across the region. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with the 6-State Trooper Project, announced the results of their focused enforcement initiative earlier this month.

The project, which included participation from the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, West Virginia State Police, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, took place from March 6 to March 8. The primary goal was to enhance community safety by removing drugs and illegal weapons from the streets.

During this period, the collective efforts resulted in 343 arrests related to drug violations and 78 arrests for illegal weapons offenses. In Ohio alone, troopers arrested 37 individuals for drug-related charges and 13 for illegal weapons violations.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a longstanding collaborative agreement among these state police agencies. It focuses on improving regional law enforcement capabilities in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol, and intelligence sharing. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to tackle crime and ensure the safety of communities across the participating states.
