CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A stolen vehicle saga that began in Texas has found a resolution in Chillicothe, as local police successfully located and recovered a 2013 brown Ford F-150 reported missing from Killeen, Texas. The vehicle was found unoccupied in the 100 block of Sycamore Street yesterday.

The discovery followed a tip received by the Chillicothe Police Department on March 16, which alerted officers to the vehicle’s presence in the area. The department received multiple alerts from the Flock safety system, initially locating the vehicle on N Bridge St near 2nd St and Stewart Rd.

According to the police report provided to the Guardian, the vehicle was eventually found at the rear of an address on Sycamore Street. During this time, contact was reportedly made with an individual who claimed he had had the vehicle since January, and stated it belonged to his employer. He alleged that his possession of the vehicle was known and sanctioned by his employer, who also owed him for completed work. The individual cooperated by providing the keys to the vehicle.

The Ford F-150 was subsequently towed to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) Impound Lot.

Chillicothe PD has since confirmed the recovery with Killeen PD through LEADS and notified the registered owner of the vehicle’s status and location. The incident remains under investigation, with further details awaited on the circumstances surrounding the vehicle’s theft and its journey from Texas to Chillicothe.
