CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County has launched its 2025 construction season with 17 road and bridge projects in the area, bringing closures, detours, and upgrades across the region, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The projects range from resurfacing roads to replacing bridges and realigning intersections, with several major initiatives underway. A $6.5 million project on County Road 222 will replace the Charleston Pike bridge and adjust the County Road 222 and Schrader Road intersection, closing the road for 60 days starting May 1 and continuing with one-lane traffic until Sept. 25.
On State Route 159, a $20.5 million overhaul of Bridge Street began April 7 and is set to wrap up by Sept. 29. The work includes a new roundabout at Stewart Road and Consumer Center Drive, removal of a slip ramp to southbound Bridge Street, and upgraded traffic signals.
A $587,000 bridge replacement on State Route 207 between Rinkliff Lane and Stone Road started March 1, closing the road for 60 days with completion expected by Sept. 30. County Road 166 on Mount Tabor Road faces a 45-day closure between Skiver and Mount Zion roads for a $218,000 bridge repair, running from March 3 to Aug. 7. Similarly, a $324,000 bridge replacement on County Road 184 along Rozelle Creek Road, between Mount Tabor and Sullivan roads, began March 3 and will close the road.
The projects aim to improve safety and infrastructure but will disrupt traffic through the summer and fall.
