COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine nominated John Logue on Tuesday to lead the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, pending Ohio Senate confirmation. If approved, Logue will succeed Anne M. Vogel, who was appointed U.S. EPA Region 5 Administrator.

“John Logue is a strong leader with a proven track record of serving Ohioans and leading important agencies,” DeWine said. “I know John will continue the progress Ohio EPA has made during my administration protecting our air, land, and water.”

Logue has held key roles at the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, including Administrator/CEO and deputy administrator, overseeing one of the nation’s largest state-run insurance systems. Since joining BWC in 2019 as chief of strategic direction, he managed the Division of Safety & Hygiene and offices for analytics, business intelligence, data warehouse, business transformation, and established the Workforce Safety Innovation Center.

Logue earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from John Carroll University, a master’s in business administration from Cleveland State University, and an associate in risk management designation from the Insurance Institute of America, now known as The Institutes.
