CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Kroger will give away 92,000 pints of its brand ice cream on June 20, the first day of summer, as part of its Summer in a Pint promotion, the company announced.
The campaign, marking 1,000 pints for each of summer’s 92 days, follows last year’s giveaway of 45,000 pints. The free pints are available in new Summer in a Pint flavors or classic Kroger Brand ice creams.
“Last year, we were blown away by customer excitement for our free pint offer and this summer we are making it even sweeter,” said Mike Murphy, Kroger’s group vice president of center store merchandising.
To claim a free pint, customers can visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com starting at noon ET on June 20 to download a single-use digital coupon, while supplies last. The coupon is redeemable at participating Kroger stores from June 20 through July 4. It is not valid in California, Colorado, Louisiana, Tennessee, or Nevada, nor at Mariano’s, Metro Market, Pick ‘n Save, or QFC stores.
Available Summer in a Pint flavors include Italian Style Summer Fizz (blood orange sherbet with popping candy and a blood orange ribbon), Fireside Nights (toasted marshmallow ice cream with s’mores pieces and a glittery swirl), Sandy Shores (coconut ice cream with pretzel crunch), and Poolside Tan Lines (a swirl of vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee ice creams).
Customers can locate participating stores at kroger.com/stores/search. Kroger banner stores include Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Gerbes, Jay C Food Store, Pay Less Super-Markets, and Smith’s Food and Drug.
