CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A 3-year-old boy from Chillicothe, Brandon Allison Jr., is fighting a rare form of childhood kidney cancer known as Wilms Tumor, diagnosed at stage 4 in June 2025. Having already undergone surgery to remove a kidney, part of his lung, and a 5-inch tumor, Brandon faces months of chemotherapy and radiation. A GoFundMe campaign, launched by local resident Kyra Masters, aims to ease the Allison family’s financial burden during this challenging time.

Masters, whose own son survived cancer at age 5, started the fundraiser to support the Allisons, emphasizing the rarity of Wilms Tumor and her personal connection to their struggle. “I felt a calling to help the Allison family just like the TWP supported my family in our time of need,” Masters wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Medical bills should be the least of their worries when their 3yo is battling cancer.” The campaign, under the hashtag #letsmakechildhoodcancerextinct, calls on the Chillicothe community to show its support.

Brandon Jr. is set to begin radiation treatment on Wednesday, according to an August 17 update from Masters. The fundraiser, organized for beneficiary Larisa Allison, seeks to cover mounting medical costs, allowing the family to focus on Brandon’s treatment and recovery.

Wilms Tumor, a rare kidney cancer primarily affecting young children, has placed significant physical and emotional strain on the Allison family.
