LEESBURG, Ohio — A family-owned roofing company in central Ohio is continuing its tradition of giving back to veterans by providing a free roof replacement to a U.S. Army veteran.

RoofX, based in Leesburg, announced Wednesday that it has selected Dale Kinnison of Washington Court House as the recipient of its 2025 RoofX for Troops program. The company, working with shingle manufacturer GAF, will fully fund and install a new shingle roof on Kinnison’s home at no cost to him.

This marks the second year RoofX has donated a complete roof replacement to a local veteran. In 2024, the company surprised a U.S. Marine Corps veteran in Hillsboro with a new roof.

“It’s such an incredible honor to do something special like this for a veteran in our community,” Galen Yoder, co-owner of RoofX, said in a statement. “There are many proud men and women from our community who have served in uniform. This is just our way of saying, ‘thank you for your service.’”

Jim Good, general manager of RoofX, said the company has already received numerous nominations for the 2026 giveaway.

“I love seeing family members nominate their parent or grandparent who served,” Good said. “Many of these veterans are too proud to admit they need help, and someone who cares about them steps up.”

Nominations for next year’s RoofX for Troops program are being accepted at www.roofxfortroops.com. The company offers free roof inspections for other homeowners and can be reached at 937-509-8085 or www.roofxusa.com.
