CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that damaged two vehicles at a Pleasant Valley Road gas station, according to a sheriff’s office report.

Deputies were dispatched Jan. 8 to a private property in the 13000 block of Pleasant Valley Road after a gas station manager reported someone ramming their vehicle into a parked car.

Video footage reviewed by investigators shows a red pickup truck pulling into the parking lot from Pleasant Valley Road, driving close to the building before turning sharply and backing into a parked Acura. The impact forced the Acura into a nearby Toyota, causing damage to both vehicles.

After striking the vehicles, the truck left the scene, according to a sheriff’s report.

Investigators later compared the surveillance footage with a red Chevrolet pickup that had been towed in connection with a separate case. Damage observed on the truck appeared consistent with the damage seen in the gas station video, including damage to the rear passenger-side area.

Deputies later interviewed a man believed to be connected to the truck. He denied being at the gas station and claimed the vehicle had been inoperable for some time, according to the report.

Photos and surveillance footage from the gas station were collected as part of the investigation. The case remains under investigation. The suspect’s name was redacted from official reports provided to the Guardian.
