NEW BOSTON, Ohio (AP) — Guthrie’s, the original chicken-finger-only restaurant, has opened a new location at 4642 Gallia St. in New Boston, the company announced Tuesday. The restaurant is the brand’s second in Ohio and the third nationwide store opening this year as part of a broader expansion.
The New Boston restaurant marks the third location in the region for franchisees Beckett and Sam Gue, who operate the restaurant with partner Jake Nix through Tri-State Guthrie’s, LLC.
Founded in 1982 in Haleyville, Alabama, Guthrie’s was the first restaurant to build a menu entirely around chicken fingers. The chain has spent more than four decades refining its signature recipe and sauce, which company officials say remain central to its family-owned identity.
“We’re proud to bring the family-owned tradition of Guthrie’s Chicken into New Boston,” said Tom Carr, president and CEO of Guthrie’s Franchising. “We’re also excited to support our local franchise partners, Beckett, Sam, and Jake, as they open their third location with us—sharing our signature chicken fingers, sauce, and hospitality with even more of the Ohio Valley region.”
The New Boston location is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant has created roughly 50 local jobs and serves hand-breaded chicken fingers, crinkle-cut French fries, hand-chopped coleslaw, Texas toast, and the brand’s signature dipping sauce.
Guthrie’s operates more than 70 restaurants across 12 states, and plans continued expansion throughout 2026.
